Please note: This position has the possibility to work remotely up to 100% of the time. The position will require occasional travel to the Phoenix corporate offices and/or site locations. This position may be performed anywhere in the U.S. except California, New Hampshire, Michigan, Illinois and New York. Additional states may be excluded from remote work based on business factors. Should the position shift to in-office work in the future, the company will offer relocation benefits at that time should the position meet the established eligibility for these benefits.

Description

Under moderate supervision, manages specific program(s), project(s) and/or people. Regularly demonstrate project delivery leadership while overseeing the efforts of multi-disciplinary medium to large projects to deliver solutions to business problems. Works on complex issues and implements solutions mostly through the determination of strategy and delegation to others in a group or functional area. Daily activities will include: reviewing and updating solution documentation; communicating project status and goals to project stakeholders, including executives; leading design-thinking workshops to deconstruct business processes and align with MIS platform strategy; collaborating with multiple, cross-functional project teams to define workplans and remove obstacles; and training, coaching and advising other project team members. Limited budget responsibility, as well as some latitude to set objectives, priorities and timelines that may impact department or individual work groups, and often collaborates with managers and/or functional site leaders, and has some interaction with external colleagues.
  • Lead early "Initiation" activities for system solutions to meet prioritized business objectives. Analyze business and systems needs in terms of functional and technical requirements. Facilitate workshops as appropriate to define the business need. Ensure system analysis designs and process maps are documented and communicated with appropriate stakeholders. Using a global mindset, recommend how best to digitally enable a process aligned with MIS platform strategy.
  • Working with other architects, stay current on new business processes, technologies, methodologies, and work facilitation models likely to create innovation opportunities. Coach other team members to develop stronger functional and technical skills for the applications which they are aligned to support. Where applicable, lead and motivate analysts and other platform employees. Exhibit and encourage Freeport Edge behaviors.
  • Leveraging the appropriate project management processes and tools, lead cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams delivering organizational strategic objectives. Aligned to organizational strategic priorities, define and communicate project plans to achieve the strategic objectives. Track progress towards achieving these goals and help the delivery teams to remove any obstacles.
  • Through collaboration with delivery teams, and business and operational organizations, build and execute project plans and support models. Provide MIS assistance to production support, including system configuration, system monitoring, and updating interfaces with customer business processes. Establish and cultivate partnerships with internal and external teams to achieve organizational goals. Identify MIS-related user satisfaction issues. Communicate issues to MIS management and lead resolution of these issues.
  • Perform other duties as requested.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technology or business discipline and five (5) years of experience managing medium to large technical solution implementations.
  • Communication
    • Capable of creating executive briefings and presenting to senior management.
    • Trusted technical advisor capable of participating in early-initiation meetings for business initiatives.
  • Process Analysis
    • Facilitates sessions with unrelated teams to break down business process, identify gaps and define options to remediate.
    • Strong understanding of technology platforms and strategy and can align solutions to them.
  • Implementation
    • Manages major projects and small/minor programs.
    • Works with multiple cross-functional teams to deliver solutions.
    • Resolves most obstacles and project conflicts and knows when to escalate.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Project management with five (5) years of experience leading technology project teams.
  • Experience with Microsoft Online (O365/M365) environment including SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Forms, Whiteboard, Delve, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience Working in Agile project management methodology and Agile teams and working with Developers, Architects, and Business Customers.
  • Experience working directly with stakeholders to identify, analyze and gather solution requirements.
  • Experience analyzing business processes and using requirements to develop common data models.
  • Experience with data analysis and manipulation.
  • Experience with Visio and project management software (MSProject, Planner, DevOps).
  • Understands and demonstrates Freeport Edge principles and behaviors.


Physical Demands & Work Environment:
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hart hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
  • Freeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/alcohol-free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing as allowed by applicable state laws
