Salary: Attractive Base Salary + Above Standard Super + Annual Bonus

Scope: Spanning 4 Mining Assets in Queensland

Reports to: HSEC Manager

The Opportunity: An opportunity to join a global mining organisation, renowned for internal development of their staff who can also offer a great lifestyle with favourable residential rostering, long mine life and top remuneration for such a role.

The Role: Work closely as part of the Health, Safety, Environment & Community team to provide leadership and advice to all related matters across the companies underground mine sites in Queensland. Head up a team of dedicated environmental and community relations individuals whilst effectively managing stakeholder relationships.

Core focus:
  • Lead and provide support to the Environment & Community site based team to ensure environmental obligations are understood, maintained and managed effectively.
  • Enhance environmental management including air quality control, biodiversity and land management, surface and groundwater management.
  • Manage environmental compliance, reporting and statutory investigations.
  • Ensure regulatory communication is managed to a high standard across all QLD assets and functions.
  • Oversee the Corporate Social Investment Program which includes digital material community information and engagement, sponsored events management and media responses.
  • Continuous improvement in environmental and community relations management and systems.
  • Strive to improve the functions of company HSEC databases.
  • Ensuring a safe working environment by adhering to HSEC policies and procedures throughout the site.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Environmental Science or similar
  • 8+ years' experience in a mining related position
  • Prior experience in community relations
  • Experience in a leadership role and managing a small to medium sized team
  • Proficient in Microsoft packages
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills which can be effectively applied across all levels of the business
  • Experience with hard or soft rock sites preferred
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Commitment to health, safety & environmental policies
