About this role

What you will be responsible for?

Coordinate the development and execution of global Sustainability & External Relations(S&ER) Compliance Program systems and processes, with focus on standardization, efficiency and continuous improvement. Lead liaison with site and regional teams to enable their efforts towards implementation of related global requirements. Support Corporate S&ER in improving compliance-related outcomes across the business.

Your role will consist of

Here is a snapshot of what your day to day will look like:

• We coordinate the development and maintenance of compliance-related systems including processes that document, track and follow-up verification findings and actions, through the Enablon software solution and others. Liaise with supporting consultant services as needed.
• We instruct the support for global teams subject to compliance-related verification programs including Compliance Audit, Combined Voluntary Commitments Assessment, annual reporting data Assurance, and internal Environment, Social and Political Standard audits and related Critical Control Verifications.
• We coordinate and regularly improve internal compliance record keeping, tracking and informational systems, including the global Compliance Register and intranet-based reference data, in liaison with global obligation owners.
• We maintain and continually improve processes for analysis and trending of compliance related data, helping and working with global teams to integrate into S&ER-wide reporting, risk identification, project prioritization and decision making.
• We guide and provide support to global teams on S&ER Discovery (intranet) site.
• We support other compliance systems including tracking of internal Standard Variance requests and approvals and Peer Review processes, including for Investment System Project decisions. Support budget planning and cost control processes where needed.

Your training, skills, and experience checklist

Here is what we would need to see from you!

• Working knowledge of compliance management processes and systems for internal and externally driven, sustainability-related obligations in an industrial setting.
• Understanding of audit/assurance concepts, including approaches such as Lines of Defense and internal control theory.
• Awareness of Resources industry specific sustainability (environment, social responsibility) management risks and opportunities, and associated on-ground management approaches.
• Exposure to requirements within legally-binding regulatory obligations, and preference for exposure to global non-regulatory, leading practice sustainability frameworks and/or standards.
• Knowledge of project management concepts including implementation of dynamic solutions across diverse cultures and locations.
• Strong understanding of MS Office suite required; understanding of other database, analysis and reporting software preferred.
• Knowledge of budget development and financial management preferred.
• Minimum of Bachelor's Degree, preferably in sustainability, health & safety, legal/policy, internal audit, mining / mineral processing technical or other related field;
• Minimum seven years of experience in one or more of the above or related fields;
• Audit, project management and/or data analysis experience required;
• Resources industry experience including at the operational level preferred.
• Validated experience in cross-functional relationship-building and teamwork at all levels of the organizations, and the ability to work with internal and external partners across global cultures;
• Customer-focused engagement and communication skills; translating internal and external requirements into usable tools with a continuous improvement mindset;
• Adaptable to evolving business needs;
• Compliance auditor mindset;
• Recognized attention to detail and ability achieve and maintain tight timeframes and priorities;
• Project management, written/verbal communications and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical skills based on use of own initiative - to collect, interpret and collate information for analysis and reporting.

Working conditions and location

Where you will be located!

• The position is primarily remote, based in Denver, Colorado. Newmont Regional or site office locations would be considered.
• Position may be required to travel to, and assist other domestic and international locations, up to 20%.

The salary range offered for this role is $ 100,640 -132,090 . The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.
