About the role

We are seeking an engaging, safety focused Supervisor Projects to join our Maintenance Planning & Logistics team based in Dampier.

This role presents a fantastic opportunity to draw on your people leadership skills, coupled with your technical knowledge to effectively coordinate the execution of work. You will have a strong safety leadership focus to ensure the reliability and sustainability of projects across our operation.

You will be delivering turnkey solutions for Ports Dampier and leading Contractor Management activities regarding our contract partners working across a broad range of assets, making this role both challenging and interesting. You will have a diverse portfolio looking after not only contactor management but also capital project execution.

This role is a great opportunity to showcase your influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.

Reporting to the Superintendent Projects, you will be:
  • Delivering end to end project management through project initiation, development, implementation, and review inclusive of improvement opportunities
  • Driving change that adds value and creates efficiencies to process/system for contractor management
  • Building relationships and liaising with internal departments and support functions to deliver quality scoping documents and compliance with business standards
  • Managing the engagement and performance of external contractors and suppliers and monitoring the quality and standard of services delivered by external contractors
  • Perform contractor reviews with vendor partners
  • Delivering on safe execution principles through Supervision and management of project personnel during onboarding, project execution and offboarding processes

What you will need for this role
  • Be proactive with a commitment in driving a safe and inclusive team culture
  • Have leadership experience and be confident in leading, developing and coaching teams
  • Exposure to contract management
  • Project management experience
  • Ability to work with diverse teams and manage multiple programs of change/continuous improvement activities
  • Ability to achieve outcomes through influence and collaboration with others
  • Hold a current "C Class" WA Manual Driver's License

This role is for applicants residing in or willing to permanently relocate to Western Australia. Rio Tinto offers fly in and fly out options from Perth, our regional FIFO hubs and the opportunity to live in our residential towns where applicable.
