Reporting to the Lead, Business Admin Project Development group (PDG), the Site Project Coordinator is accountable for providing project coordination and administrative support to Water Projects Program in Fernie, BC.

The Site Project Coordinator is accountable for implementing project administrative functions within the standards and focusing on project data tracking and synchronization. Administrative functions include but are not limited to preparing minutes reports and providing support on the assigned major project. In addition, the incumbent is a self-motivated individual with strong attention to detail to join our team and support multiple projects within Teck.

This role is one-year of temporary employment.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
  • Act as Project Coordinator for a large project that involves preparing presentations, reports, other assignments, as required by project personnel in a timely manner.
  • The primary responsibility in all facets of project administration, including assisting with the tracking and completion of Project action items and deliverables.
  • Scope and budget tracking, reporting and project controls (for input to Project Controller).
  • Research materials and execute assignments under minimal supervision and direction, take initiative and anticipate the team's needs.
  • Prepares and submits approved expense reports for senior project team members as required.
  • Coordinates preparing presentations from multiple contributors and is capable of content generation and formatting.
  • Organizes schedules, meetings, and functions for assigned project teams.
  • Books meetings, takes and distributes meeting notes, completes event logistics, books travel, and prepares remote meetings
  • Handles assignments involving highly confidential matters with utmost care and attention
  • Relationships: Interacting with project managers, superintendents, supervisors, owners, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, and other sub-trades.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s University/college degree or certification in project management (i.e. business management) from an appropriately accredited institution.
  • In lieu of the above requirement, candidates with five (5) or more years of relevant experience in administrative support to technical or project personnel.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Project, Visio and SharePoint.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills and the ability to effectively prioritize competing priorities.
  • Independent, self-motivated, and able to take the initiative to liaise with other departments and/or external sources.
  • Knowledge of the mining and or construction industry would be considered highly valuable.
