About this role

What will you be responsible for?

Will act as primary support for Tax Accounting Director, preparing ASC 740 quarterly and annual U.S. tax provision, supporting regional tax accounting teams, issue resolution, and coordination with worldwide consolidation efforts.

Your role will consist of

Here is a snapshot of what your day to day will look like:

We prepare quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provisions and tax-related financial statement disclosures through (60%):
• Performing quarterly and annual income tax account reconciliations.
• Maintaining U.S. tax basis balance sheet, maintaining tax attribute schedules used in the analysis of valuation allowance management.
• Assisting the Tax Accounting Director with Tax Accounting issues encountered at the regions, including resolution and documentation of worldwide consolidating Tax Accounting issues.
• Coordinating the integration and timing of regional and worldwide tax provision efforts, and serve as primary liaison with external auditors.
We serve as an administrator for the Tax Accounting software, Longview Tax. (15%)
We work with the Research and Planning group to determine and detail the financial statement impacts associated with transactions, the implementation of tax planning initiatives, and mergers and acquisitions. (5%)
We support the Newmont Business Planning group in the development of tax accurate business plans, forecasts, budgets, and regional and worldwide cash tax forecasts. (15%)
We reinforce and support the Tax Department's goals, objectives and mission in interaction with other departments, including Newmont's Corporate Development, Legal, Land, Treasury, Accounting and Business Planning groups, as well as Newmont's international administrative and operating units. (5%)

Your training, skills, and experience checklist

Here is what we would need to see from you!

Knowledge:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Tax, Business, or related field.
• CPA preferred.
• Masters in Accounting or Masters in Taxation is highly beneficial.
Experience:
• Minimum 5 years of experience with large public company financial statement audits or tax provisions.
• Experience in the Mining or Natural Resource industry is a plus
Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to effectively handle pressure and demands of deadlines and competing priorities.
• Ability to research, interpret and analyze technical tax accounting material.
• Strong knowledge of financial and accounting principles and theory.
• Exceptional attention to detail and work paper documentation
• Ability to apply inductive reasoning in problem assessment and resolution.
• Solid understanding of financial reporting, general ledger, tax compliance and provision systems, specifically Longview Tax and BPC.
• Strong digital literacy, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
• Sophisticated knowledge of spreadsheet applications.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and project management skills.

Working conditions and location

Where you will be located!

The position is located in the Denver corporate office with a hybrid schedule of remote and onsite work.
May be required to travel to and assist otherdomestic and international sites.

The salary range offered for this role is $ 85,520 - 112,245 . The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.
