About the Role
In partnership with our client, WorkPac are currently seeking an experienced Civil Project Manager to join our client team which specialises in large scale landscaping works and civil construction in the civic, commercial, hospitality, education and health sectors based in Adelaide. This role will be a permanent, full-time position with the client with the majority of their client base being local council and government organisations and services offered to include urban renewal, bulk earthworks, detailed excavation, demolition, stormwater, pipe laying and drainage, concrete works, retaining, paving, lawns, hydro seeding, revegetation, mass planting and irrigation.
This is a pivotal role that reports directly to the General Manager, and the core function of the role is to oversee and facilitate the day to day project management.
Responsibilities will Include:
  • Consulting with the Managing Director to ensure strategies are in place to have resources (manpower, equipment, systems and procedures) allocated to each project.
  • Chairing/driving regular meetings with supervisors to ensure that their assigned projects are on schedule for site delivery, and coordinating and scheduling staff and machinery.
  • Develop project schedule, plans and budgets for each project.
  • Efficiently identify and meet clients requirements, build productive relationships and take responsibility for customer satisfaction.
  • Liaising with the Project Supervisors, monitoring the supply demands for each project and identifying any problems in meeting deadlines and taking the necessary remedial action and reporting to the General Manager as required.
  • Managing and liaising with major sub-contractors and suppliers to facilitate the timely execution of their responsibilities;
  • Reporting to the General Manager on a weekly basis on the status of projects, problems encountered and remedial action proposed;
  • Developing tenders as instructed by the Managing Director
Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 5 years Project Management Experience, and proven experience managing the day to day operations across multiple projects within the construction industry.
  • The ability to develop client relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Highly developed communication skills and an eye for detail.
  • Highly developed skills in relevant software such as MS Excel, MS Word & Microsoft Project essential
  • Highly motivated individual.
