Position:Site Health and Safety Advisor
Experience: 5 to 7 years
Duration: 6 months
Hatch is currently looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to deliveron-site health and safety activities for projects in Saskatchewan. The Safety Advisor will receive direction from the Hatch and client project team, to assist with monitoring all project H&S activities at site. The candidate must be adaptable, self-motivated, have the ability to work both independently as well as in a team environment, and be able to build and maintain strong relationships with both colleagues and external clients through excellent verbal and written communication.

The Safety Advisor will receive direction from the Hatch and client project team, to assist with monitoring all project H&S activities at site. Responsibilities include:
- Assist in promoting an active health and safety culture;
- Assist in monitoring the contractor health and safety management systems;
- Assist in monitoring adherence to client safety program
- Provide administrative support as required;
- Prepare reports on health and safety;
- Promote effective communication and dissemination of relevant health and safety information;
- Interface with field staff and support project site work;
- Assist with developing and participating in the inspection and audits of the site;
- Assist with and be able to perform job safety analysis, analyze operations, identify risks and implement preventative measures;
- Support senior staff with the coordination of incident investigations; document and supervise preventative and corrective action.
- Keep abreast of developments in health and safety legislation and practice;
Qualifications:
- Degree or certificate in occupational safety and health or a similar discipline
- NCSO designation
- Understanding of worker safety standards and their applications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint…etc)
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Outward facing with good interpersonal skills;
- Self-motivated with good organizational capability.
