We need an experienced Project Manager to deliver a highly technical pipeline install in central Dunedin. Pulling on your knowledge of engaging stakeholders, hydraulic design and civil construction this is a great opportunity to be an Engineer again on a high profile project for a top tier contractor. You'll bring experience and significant added value to this project by being proactive, engaging with clients, consultants and customers to managing the delivery within the tight time frames proposed. About the role:

Strong organisation capability, experience in water construction and communication skills are key to being successful in this role. You will be responsible for the planning, scheduling, reporting and day to day management of this challenging and high-quality infrastructure project. This role is for a passionate person who wants to succeed in business, has excellent leadership skills, is a problem solver with a good technical knowledge and has a clear understanding of financial controls and commercial acumen. Your day will include but is not be limited to:
  • Engaging with key external parties including our client, consultants and affected parties.
  • Managing risk, and ensuring accurate and timely delivery of internal and external contract requirements from inception to close out
  • Delivery of the project in accordance with our Downer Standard
  • Fostering strong relationships with our clients and delivery teams
  • Lead and manage Health and Safety and Environmental company and contract specific requirements
  • Engagement, direction and leading Contract Engineer and Supervisor assigned to projects, their teams as well as sub-contractors
  • Provide leadership and manage the day to day requirements for the project including but not limited to contract management, and management of resourcing, plant and materials.
  • Provide technical, constructability and methodology advice to the Client and engineer as part of the project delivery team


About you:

You'll need Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or other relevant tertiary education, and you will need to be able to demonstrate success in Civil Infrastructure Project and Contract Management experience in the 3 Waters sector. Positive leadership skills that enable others to excel under your guidance with an ability to personable qualities in communication.

Combining these together, you'll be driven, committed and hard-working. You'll have strong time management skills and enjoy working as part of a team. You're passionate about delivering great results and can comfortably communicate with other managers and field staff to deliver on time and budget.
