Moving to the next stage of the development of our North and South American portfolio, FFI is now looking to engage experienced America's based project professionals to undertake some of these worldwide opportunities.

Title: Senior Water Resource Engineer

Location: The Woodlands, Houston

Roster: Monday to Friday

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Effectively deliver technical water resource engineering assessments for a range of studies to meet business objectives
  • Collection and analysis of water data (such as water quantity and quality information) to inform studies and additional site investigations
  • Providing advice and information to study teams on water resource issues that influence design, construction, and maintenance, of engineered structures including water source investigations, water balance modelling, water quality assessments and other related water management studies
  • Planning and managing site investigations including collection of hydrological and hydrogeological data
  • Risk assessment of water management and related natural hazards
  • Review of water monitoring and laboratory data, water resource assessments, including water quality and supply studies
  • Managing and liaising with a range of project stakeholders including construction engineers, consultants, and contractors
  • Assist with design of built structures, using specialized computer software and calculations
  • Assist in preparation of construction plans, specifications and cost estimates including material quantity calculations
  • Development of conceptual and numerical models of the hydrological cycle
  • Perform watershed feasibility studies and conceptual designs to provide water quantity and quality assessments
  • Developing water management plans, water management systems and water balance models
  • Provide support to a diverse team of professionals across multiple parts of the value chain
  • Provide analysis of options for, and participate in the design of, water treatment processes
  • Prepare documents summarizing work performed


Qualifications and skills required:

  • Bachelors Degree in civil engineering, or related discipline from an accredited university
  • Professional engineering registration preferred
  • Prior experience in a similar role preferably in the renewable energy sector or complex environments
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and developing teams with strong leadership skills
  • Detailed Knowledge of a range of water resource management tools and processes
  • Enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment in collaboration with other like-minded team members and adjacent project teams (also delivering a variation of the system)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A strong capability in adapting to multidisciplinary requirements in particular communicating a range of Water Resource Management concepts to a range of expertise
  • Strong data management and manipulation skills, with excellent computer literacy skills
  • Strong team skills and willingness to travel for short periods
  • International water management experience is highly desirable
  • Experience in water balance modelling, hydrological assessments and/or hydrogeological assessments is essential
  • Experience with water system planning and infrastructure design and management
  • Experience in water quality management and water quality processing is highly desirable
