Golden Queen Mining Company, LLC (the “Company”) operates a gold and silver, open pit, heap leach operation on its Soledad Mountain property, located just outside the town of Mojave in Kern County in southern California. The Project uses conventional open pit mining methods and the cyanide heap leach along with the Merrill-Crowe processes to recover gold and silver from crushed, agglomerated ore.

The Company is seeking a Supervisor – Plant Maintenance for its Soledad Mountain Project (the “Project”) in Mojave. The Supervisor – Plant Maintenance will oversee the maintenance of the process equipment. This includes a jaw crusher, cone crusher and high pressure grinding roll crusher as well as chutes, conveyor belts and associated equipment. This is a safety sensitive position.

The Supervisor – Plant Maintenance will report to the General Foreman - Maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Superintendent – Maintenance to develop and implement an effective maintenance program for the plant / process equipment.
  • Monitor and help implement an effective program for the plant / process equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain both short-term and long-term maintenance schedules starting with daily checks and extending to multi-year schedules including major overhauls;
  • Work closely with the Purchasing Coordinator and Maintenance Planner to procure maintenance supplies;
  • Work closely with maintenance personnel, to ensure proper maintenance is performed on the plant and all associated equipment.
  • According to the Maintenance Plan, set maintenance priorities for the mechanics, welders, electricians and support personnel. Support said personnel with proper guidance and training as needed.
  • Maintain a work environment that attracts workers with the right skills for a demanding maintenance scenario;
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment for all personnel with full compliance in all directives and regulations regarding safety, health and the environment.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in an open pit mining environment with a focus on all facets of plant / process equipment maintenance;
  • The perfect candidate will have had hands-on experience as a heavy equipment mechanic / millwright. Have held a supervisory position running a maintenance facility similar in complexity to equipment and facilities that are associated with the mine.
  • Willing and able to works shifts if needed.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to work with a mixed team of heavy duty mechanics, welders, electrician and support personnel.
  • Able and willing to lead by example and help guide the mechanics, electricians through proper troubleshooting procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement planned maintenance programs for plant / process equipment.
  • Ability to present information in a manner that is clear and understandable and proficient in all verbal and written skills.
  • Needs to have a working knowledge of computers and Microsoft software. Excel, Word, Power-point.
