The Role and the Company

The Production Supervisor role is based in Cupertino, CA and reports directly to the Operations Superintendent.  The position is primarily responsible to supervisor a team in the daily production, plant inspections and maintenance. 

What you'll get to do

•    Supervise work of persons assigned to the team. 
•    Oversees and ensures safe, quality production.
•    Manage any urgent or breakdown repairs as required to minimize downtime.
•    Evaluates and communicates anticipated PM jobs and provide input into store stock inventory
•    Participate in developing work schedules, and equipment usage schedules
•    Participate in projects through preparing material and labor estimates and in project implementation
•    Utilization and updates in AOM and KRONOS as required
•    Enforce company rules and policies
•    Participate in the implementation of the Company safety program, and enforce Company, MSHA and OSHA safety legislation, regulations and policies 
•    Participate in the plant's on-call program
•    Evaluate skills, determine appropriate training, and provide development for assigned staff
•    Administration of the collective bargaining agreement; participate in discipline and grievance process as required

Essential Experience and Skills

•    Extensive production experience with supervisory experience
•    High School Diploma or GED
•    Prior experience working with large rotating heavy industry machinery and equipment
•    Demonstrated ability to lead others with or without direct authority
•    Solid organizational skills
•    Familiarity with Microsoft Office products including MS Excel and Word
•    Ability to anticipate and adapt to changing situations
•    Ability to perform tasks that include walking, climbing equipment, working within confined spaces, and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
•    Willingness to provide coverage during off-shift hour and weekends as required
•    Open pit mining experience preferred, quarry experience at minimum.

Preferred Experience and Skills 

•    Working knowledge of AOM and KRONOS preferred
•    Bachelor's Degree preferred
•    Prior experience working in a unionized environment with responsibility for administering the terms of a collective agreement, including active part in the discipline and grievance procedures is a plus

Work Environment

•    Role operates in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions.
