Teck Resources is looking for an intermediate Business Analyst (5+ years) with experience providing application support for large corporations, engaging with partners, and documenting business requirements. Duties include partner engagement, business requirements gathering, vendor engagement, system implementation, and system design, among others. The candidate will be the main contact for the support, implementation, and sustainment of Mine Engineering Systems

Responsibilities

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety rules and procedures
  • Lead requirements sessions with SMEs and other technical and business partners. Gather and document business/technical requirements for all aspects of projects
  • Advice & action project plans by providing a detailed description of requirements and achieving deliverables
  • Apply/analyze/investigate material available in confluence/DevOps/prior submitted tickets to map out theoretical plans
  • Able to lead and implement the implementation of the project of up to 6 months of work and prioritize workload to work on requests across several customers and systems
  • Develop and implement test plans to ensure the project delivers on the requirements and is stays in sync with audit needs
  • Identify and coordinate organizational change needs
  • Production of documentation to support these projects in the form of user guides, communications, awareness campaigns, knowledge base articles, and policies


Qualifications

  • A degree in technology, management, cybersecurity, or business preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years in the IT industry within a large corporate enterprise environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills are required and the ability to work remotely with little supervision is crucial
  • Highly motivated, and self-starter (i.e., takes initiative rather than waiting for direction)
  • Resourceful and able to reverse engineer
  • SCCM Familiarity. Familiar with ITIL or change management processes
  • Experience with procedural mapping for implementations, configuring checklists & crafting a process for flawless implementation
  • Flexibility to work and adapt to project needs.
  • Feels comfortable working in a high pace, uncertain environment. Has excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal and time management. Demonstrated ability to work in time-constrained conditions
  • Demonstrated sophisticated facilitation skills with the ability to effectively manage and conduct meetings and training sessions with a large and diverse audience
  • Ability to diagnose & address application issues. Comfortable operating in a support capacity for business-critical tools, applications, and expert systems; leveraging vendor support to detect and resolve high priority issues
  • Ability to implement multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively professionally with a diverse group, including executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Knowledge of metals accounting/processing an asset
  • Spanish language proficiency is an asset
  • This Job is open to the candidates from Vancouver and Calgary and it is fully remote
