Your Role

To control, record, review, update and store documentation relating to technical training documentation, Mine and Mill (Process) operations operating procedures in accordance with Newmont policy, legal requirements and government legislation regarding the control, recording and storage of documents.

Purpose

Essential Duties

Health & Safety
  • Maintain a high health, safety and environmental awareness
  • Monitor own and peers' adherence to health and safety measures, protocols and standards
  • Report any deviation from established health and safety measures and protocols to the technical training coordinator
  • Adhere strictly to Newmont's Health, Safety and Environmental standards.

Work Execution
  • Primarily responsible to support the site technical training team and coordination and record all technical training documents; will also interface with both the Mine and Mill (Process) department, to

Work Responsibilities
  • Maintain structured and systematic document control processes using SharePoint Document Management System that provides easy reference to training and SOP documents that are accurate and high quality.
  • Establish and manage the workflow of documents throughout the review processes to and from various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform routine data quality control, check the accuracy of metadata entered for easy record retrieval, and correct as required.
  • Manage registrations of technical training, perform QC checks, revision control issues and receipt of controlled documents including any external stakeholder documentation.

  • Perform other related functions as assigned by technical training coordinator.

Training & Experience

Formal Qualification:
  • Minimum grade 12 or equivalent
  • Completion of a diploma in a related discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.

Knowledge:
  • Essential knowledge of document control systems and electronic data management ( Sharepoint)
  • Knowledge of administration and communication processes, procedures and systems
  • Knowledge of Newmont's procedures and systems an asset.

Experience:
  • 2-3 years' experience with document management and control environment, working with SharePoint Electronic Document Management System or equivalent, preferably in a mine setting.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills to establish and monitor compliance with Document Control Management System; time management and ability to multi task
  • Excellent oral and communication skills
  • Strong commitment to working safely
  • Prolifient in Microsoft Suite Product
  • Previous experience utilizing SAP is considered an asset
  • Ability to adapt to changing conditions/situations in a calm professional manner.


Working Conditions

  • The Musselwhite gold mine in northwestern Ontario is a fly-in, fly-out operation on the southern shore of Opapimiskan Lake, about 480 kilometers (km) north of Thunder Bay in North West Ontario. An all-weather road connects the mine to the community of Pickle Lake, about 200 km to the south.
  • Musselwhite is a remote site with frequent exposure to extreme cold conditions.
  • Majority of work is performed on surface in an office setting., sitting at a desk for extended periods, climb stairs, walk and stand.
  • Accommodation is in a camp environment near the workplace.
  • 10hr shifts consisting of working days on a rotational schedule 4days on 3days off

This position is based at Newmont's Musselwhite mine site, which is a fly-in/fly-out operation.
