Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently looking for two Senior Electrical Engineers to join our growing Brisbane office from July this year on this technically challenging Magnetite project in Uzbekistan. Commencing into the Detailed Design phase of the project you will need to have a sound background in electrical engineering design and coordination to ensure the detail design is executed successfully. This project promises to deliver to those looking for a challenge and inclusion within a successful team.

This ideally would suit you if your current project is coming to an end or doesn't offer you the challenges of a larger project.

Your key responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to:
  • Perform electrical engineering detail design calculations
  • Prepare high quality, technically correct specifications and datasheets for major equipment
  • Adhere to the project schedule
  • Have a sound knowledge of electrical systems design analysis
  • Manage large mechanical and electrical vendor packages
  • Review the project 3D model and design drawings ensuring effective communications with the design team
  • Accountable for the quality of deliv erables in line with the needs of the customer and regulatory authorities
  • Foster good working relationships with other team members
  • Maintain safe work environment promoting zero harm


Skills / Qualifications

  • Electrical Engineering Degree
  • Membership or eligibility for membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia
  • 5 - 7 years' experience in the resources or chemical processing industries desirable
  • Previous experience with ETAP highly regarded
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team and meet deadlines
  • Sound technical engineering knowledge
  • Ability to problem-solve effectively
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong analytical, literacy and numerical skills
  • Well-developed computer skills and knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and engineering programs
  • Strong understanding of relevant Australian standards and International standards
