About the role

Accountable to the Senior Measurements Services, this role will provide survey control to facilitate execution of mine activities, including topsoil stripping, ore mining, drilling/blasting, rehabilitation, and associated projects around the Mine.

This role is being offered on a 7:7 DS Roster, FIFO Darwin, or Cairns on a full-time ongoing basis.

Some of your main responsibilities will include:

• Establish and maintain survey control for the full mining cycle and provide professional surveying services to varied personnel mining and non-mining related
• Calculations and reconciliations of areas and volumes for various quantities
• Conduct weekly and monthly reporting for volume and tonnages
• Assist in misfire & hazard verification and locating, record keeping and setting out
• Manage UAV flights to acquire accurate surface and volume information
• Complete TSF movement monitoring activities

About you

You will be self-motivated and enthusiastic Mine Surveyor and have a passion and commitment to be part of a high-performance team. You will have the ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.

You'll be a great fit if you have:

• Tertiary qualification in Surveying is required
• UAV operators' certificate is preferred
• Practical surveying experience, ideally with open-pit mining
• Operate and maintain a range of surveying equipment including Trimble GPS, Total Station, I-Site Scanner, Drone and Fixed Wing UAVs
• Previous experience with Vulcan and I-Site scanner/point studio software
• Full driver's license
