Normal Working Hours: Rotating Shiftwork (Super 7)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR LAB TECH 2 INCLUDE (but are not limited to):

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR LAB TECH 2 INCLUDE (but are not limited to):
- Performs sample preparation, which includes operations such as filtering slurries, drying, crushing, pulverizing, and splitting of samples in order to provide a representative sample for chemical analysis. Samples include concentrator slurries, geological channel and drill cores, smelter and refinery samples.
- Perform chemical analysis using fire assay, wet chemical digestion, x-ray analysis, and instrumentation spectrometry. Analysis is inorganic including precious metals and base metals.
- Use computers and calculate results, report results, and do various other computer work.
QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
- Proven safety and attendance record
- Comprehend and apply basic math skills (e.g. addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, fractions, etc.)
- Able to understand and follow both verbal and visual instructions regarding Laboratory safety and operations.
- Successful completion of the Analytical Laboratory Aptitude Test
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE (PREFERRED):
- Analytical laboratory experience, or;
- Other relevant laboratory or metallurgical experience or;
- A degree in Chemistry.
