Reports to: Health & Safety Superintendent

The Role: An opportunity to join a highly successful underground operation for a company with assets spanning 2 continents. This role will be responsible for all aspects of Underground Health & Safety Training Specialist across the operation, providing high level coaching methods to ensure a smooth and safe environment for all staff members to thrive.

Required Experience & Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of training programs for competency.
  • Maintain site compliance.
  • Ensure all employees have the necessary skills, knowledge, and attitude to perform their assigned tasks safely.
  • Ability to create training courses.
  • Proven commitment to safety, health and training.
  • Create and maintain accurate training records.
  • Experience with following strict MSHA guidelines.
  • Audit and review training courses for mine site employees
  • Assist with training and planned task observations.
  • Maintain document control and management.
  • Maintain training records.
  • Facilitate induction courses as required by new starters


Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mining, construction or heavy duty industry.
  • Experience operating in an underground environment
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to drive results in a timely manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent influencing and leadership skills.
  • Ability to lead by example and promote safety using effective training methods
  • Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
