Summary:

The person in this position will provide technical and strategic consulting services to support client's Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) programs and policies. Working with highly collaborative project teams and across the power, mining, fuels, manufacturing, and public market sectors, this person will assist clients in development, implementation, and management of ESG goals and strategies. The ideal candidate will have the ability to serve clients as a trusted ESG advisor with a focus on the environmental aspects and will work seamlessly with Barr's engineers and scientists to deliver high-quality solutions.

This person will help clients understand and articulate their ESG goals; assess the status of their ESG programs (gap analysis/benchmarking); complete ESG reporting; engage Barr subject matter experts when appropriate; develop scopes of work and proposals; and promote Barr while identifying and meeting the specific ESG needs of our clients.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, energy, sustainability, related science degree, business administration, finance, or other ESG-related discipline
  • 5 years of experience in ESG leadership or consulting experience to industrial and public sectors (e.g., fuels, mining, power, manufacturing, government agencies)
  • Experience with corporate or ESG and/or sustainability frameworks (e.g., TCFD, SASB, CDP, DJSI, GRI, etc.) and reporting
  • Experience with materiality assessments
  • Experience with Carbon/GHG quantification and verification for GHG Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions and/or with life cycle assessments


Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA
  • ESG or sustainability task force experience
  • Experience with internal auditing and/or benchmarking ESG programs and policies
  • Experience with external ESG programs and industry trends.
  • Expertise with specific environmental focus areas including energy, GHG, climate change, water, waste, materials
  • Experience developing relationships with new clients and/or building a book of business
  • 10 years of experience

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $125,000.00-$150,000.00/year. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus.
