We are looking for a Superintendent Mining & NPI - Operational Readiness to provide operational readiness leadership, advice, and support to the Greater Brockman Operation

This is a great opportunity to lead at a tactical level in the design and implementation of processes, practices, and tools, based on the operational readiness plan developed during the pre-feasibility study, to facilitate operational readiness and sustaining capital coordination.

Reporting to the Principal Advisor Operational Readiness and working in a challenging and exciting environment, you will be:
  • Creating value by implementing and communicating the operational readiness execution plan, focused on operational readiness project management related aspects including project controls, reporting, risk management, and planning.
  • Aligning people by establishing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders who influence and impact the operational readiness plan and capex portfolio execution.
  • Achieving results by creating and implementing the capex plan ensuring that the capex plans are fit for purpose and their delivery met.
  • Role modelling safety leadership by striving for zero harm and demonstrating the Rio Tinto safety culture, especially through improved safety in design.

What youll bring
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Degree Qualification in (Engineering, Mining or Science)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, able to build strong functional relationships with partners in a complex, matrix organisation
  • Knowledge of all aspects of surface mining, with a particular focus in Autonomous haulage operations is key to succeed in this role
  • Knowledge of project management (scoping, planning, scheduling, resource planning, and cost estimation) and project site activities and experience as member of a small to medium-sized projects management team will be an asset.
  • Understanding of organizational change management
  • Exposure to risk management and business improvement methodologies.
  • Well-developed people influencing, engagement and communication skills.
  • Capability to write conclusive reports and create documents presenting requirements and developed plans, strategies and approaches
  • Mature approach to issues and strong decision making skills
  • Proven ability in safety leadership in the mining or relevant industry.

It will also be beneficial if you have:
  • Certified in Project Management or Project Management Professional

Where youll be working

Located 60km north-west of Tom Price, Brockman is wholly owned and operated by Rio Tinto. Opened in 2010, this open pit operation offers a family friendly fly in fly out roster with state-of-the-art camp facilities.

The Greater Brockman Operations consist of Brockman 2, Brockman 4, Nammuldi and Silvergrass. Driving the latest technological advancements, the open-pit mines offer an avenue for opportunity and career progression.
