About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Nominated Supervisor to maintain positive relationships and inclusive practices with families, children, and staff to ensure compliance with service policies and procedures, National Regulations and Standards.

This is a great opportunity to learn the business side of running a thriving childcare centre, with a focus on delivering early childhood education and a commitment to safety.

Reporting to the Nominated Supervisor Cape Kids Early Learning you will:
  • Support the Nominated Supervisor in the leadership of the team to provide high-quality early learning and care
  • Guide, support and mentor colleagues to follow best practice with a particular focus on QA2 Children Health and Safety
  • Work collaboratively with the bookkeeping team to ensure enrolment processes are embedded in an efficient manner.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of service policies and procedures in line with the Law and Regulations.
  • Support the team in promoting meaningful educational programs which promote commitment to continual improvement to the quality of education and care provided within the service
  • Be an advocate for children and their families
  • Knowledge and experience of embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into an early years educational program
  • Knowledge and experience of Inclusion Support processes and funding would be advantageous

What youll bring
  • Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
  • Current First Aid in an Early Years setting certificate
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, verbal and written
  • Comprehensive time management and organisational skills and have the ability to plan and organise work in accordance with priories
  • Highly developed clerical and administrative skills
  • Approved anaphylaxis and emergency asthma management certificate
  • Have experience and knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework

Weipa - Rio Tinto Weipa is located 900km north-west of Cairns on the Gulf of Carpentaria and has been operating for over 50 years. Construction of the Amrun mining operation, located 40 kilometres southwest of Weipa, was completed in late 2018 expanding our bauxite operations to continue production from one of the worlds premier bauxite deposits.
