About the role

We are looking for a Steam Engineer (Unlimited License) to operate plant boilers, water softening equipment, a co-gen gas turbine and related equipment. The Steam Plant Operator is required to perform other duties as directed by the department supervisor.

From our location in Boron, California we supply refined borates which are key ingredients in fiberglass, glass, ceramics, fertilizers, wood preservatives and many other products.

This role is a great opportunity for motivated individuals to join a successful, dynamic and experienced team. Reporting to the Supervisor - Fixed Plant, you will be:
  • Along with your co-workers, using your experience and training to follow the highest level of safe plant operation and work behaviors.
  • Operating the boilers, co-gen turbine and related equipment to generate steam and electricity for the refinery.
  • Drawing water samples and perform chemical tests on the samples
  • Adjusting chemical feed rates
  • Maintaining steam pressure and balancing water flows for efficient plant operation.

About you

To succeed in this role, you will have:
  • The ability to read, write and perform basic math
  • Must obtain or possess an Unlimited Boiler Operating License from the City of Los Angeles
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude, computer skills and Plant operating knowledge are desirable
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Civil drivers license
