About the role

We are looking for a Development Scheduler to join our Paraburdoo operation to manage the mine scheduling activities and provide support to the mine operations team to ensure the safe and efficient execution of the mine plan.

This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join a supportive team, preferably with strong experience in open pit mining to develop and progress their career.

Reporting to the Senior Mine Engineer and working 8 days on, 6 days off roster, you will be involved in a variety of tasks including providing plans for mine development, roads, ramps, land clearing, drill areas and dump designs. In addition, you will also be:
  • Responsible for the dump progression designs and strategies
  • Coordinating and releasing designs on the 2 weekly plan development task trackers
  • Drive alignment between the daily operational planning, development, drill, and blast teams to effectively execute in a timely manner
  • Designing and coordinating the quarterly plan critical development milestones
  • Communicating with stakeholders to ensure all designs are executed safely and to standard

What you'll bring
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • You will have a degree or Diploma in Geotechnical or Mining Engineering, Surveying or Geology
  • You will have a minimum of 3 years' demonstrated experience within an open cut mining environment (preferably iron ore)
  • Practical experience within a scheduling or production engineering role is desirable
  • Working knowledge of mining and business software such as MS Office and Vulcan
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Well-developed stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills within a dynamic environment
  • A current and valid C class manual driver's licence
