Senior Control Systems & Application Support Analyst

We are looking for a Railways Control Systems & Application Support Analyst to provide support for critical control systems across rail including the AutoHaul, Train Control (Phoenix H CTC), Wayside Asset Protection devices, GPS, Tibco EMS and Networks communications.

This role is a great opportunity to enable the teams service delivery, service support and improvement project execution around the Rail Control System.

Reporting to the Superintendent Integrated Systems, you will be:
  • Supporting, monitoring, and troubleshooting rail application systems and services.
  • Troubleshooting complex network and service integrations.
  • Responding to critical condition monitoring alarms and carry out recovery actions to restore systems back to normal operation.
  • Managing incidents with relevant stakeholders and support groups.
  • Supporting project delivery and scheduled maintenance activities.

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have experience in:
  • Interpersonal skills; dealing with stakeholders in a production critical environment.
  • System and Functional safety, ideally within the mining sector.
  • Change, incident and demand management best practise
  • TIBCO Enterprise Messaging (EMS) and/or Business Works (BW) experience
  • Tertiary degree in IT/Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant industry experience
  • Red Hat Linux and Windows experience
  • Application & Control Systems Support in production critical and integrated environments.
  • Software development and/or scripting experience (Bash, Bat, PowerShell, VBS, Python).
  • Data Analytics, familiar with PowerBi
  • Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle database queries
  • Understanding network architecture, topology diagrams and Cyber security best practise
  • Manual C class drivers licence

Where you will be working

Our state-of-the-art Operations Centre (OC) located near the Perth domestic airport, is a key component of our Mine of the Future vision. The OC control room operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to coordinate our integrated network of mines, rail, power and ports. It enables all our mines, ports and rail systems to be operated from a single location, optimising site activities from 1,500km away.

This role requires a large level of field interfacing with our work groups across our track network and workshops, including periodic overnight travel.
