About the role

We are looking for Mine Line Crew Supervisor to manage the mines high voltage distribution power system and infrastructure. Meet the high voltage supply needs to the mine equipment, while ensuring safety, quality and productivity.

This role is a great opportunity to contribute to the success of the Rio Tinto Kennecott Mine.
  • Responsible for direct supervision of Linemen and deployment of equipment to meet production and safety requirements in own area of responsibility
  • Coordinating and supervising the daily activities of high voltage infrastructure
  • Setting priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities with the other supervisors, planners and areas
  • Solving problems based on practice and precedent. Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plan
  • Responsible for coordination and/or response to power issues during off duty hours

What youll bring

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Valid state Driver's License
  • Prior leadership experience
  • 5 + years of electrical, operational and technical surface mining experience.
  • Strong electrical background
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strong safety culture
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and manage continuous changes in daily work scope
  • Strong problem solving, strategic and analytical capability
  • Effective and authoritative communication and coaching skills
  • Effective time management and personal organizational skills
  • Demonstrate an open minded genuine curiosity towards understanding the needs of business and the impact of applied solutions

Where you will be working

Our Kennecott mine is a world-class, fully integrated copper mining operation, including a concentrator, smelter and refinery, located just outside Salt Lake City, Utah, in the United States. We produce copper, precious metals including gold and silver, molybdenum and sulfuric acid. Kennecott has been mining and processing minerals from the rich ore body of the Bingham Canyon Mine since 1903, and is one of the top producing mines in the world, comprising approximately 11 percent of U.S. annual copper production.
