About the role

We are looking for a Mining Engineer with excellent mine planning and design skills to design and schedule the underground mine, optimize the operations, and assist with short- and medium-term development and production planning .

This role is a great opportunity to develop and grow understanding of the underground mine operations, acquire project management skills and business improvement experience. Working a 5 days on, 2 off roster and reporting to the Senior Engineer - Mining, you will:

- Prepare plans and schedules to support the short- and medium-term planning horizons

- Perform detailed design of mine development

- Generate stope drilling and production plans

- Identify improvement opportunities and drive them through implementation

What you'll bring

To succeed in this role, you will have:

- Strong safety mentality and familiarity with safety systems

- An undergraduate degree, preferably in mining engineering.

- 3D design and drafting software experience (Deswik, Vulcan, etc.)

- At least 2 years of experience, preferably in underground metal mining

- Well-developed analytical skills and technical competencies

- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization

- Proven ability to operate independently and in small multi-discipline teams

- Ability to build collaborative relationships within teams

It will also be beneficial if you have:

- Experience in underground mining

- Intermediate computer competency (Excel, Word, SAP, etc.)
