We are currently seeking a Classified Plant Inspector to maintain cadence to the Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations (MSIR) regime for all classified plant assets under the Brockman 2, Brockman 4, and Nammuldi mining leases. As the statutory appointed person for classified plant across these sites, you will be responsible for overseeing all classified plant inspections, managing the inspection workload, maintaining the site classified plant register and ensuring 100% compliance to all inspections.

Reporting to the Senior Engineer, in this hands-on role you will:
  • Ensure all CP at site is correctly identified and recorded in SAP as Classified Plant
  • Ensure planned maintenance for Classified Plant is correctly prepared in SAP and meets the requirements of the governing codes and standards
  • Ensure Registration documents and documentation required under Regulatory requirements are correctly stored for each asset
  • Offer MSIA/MSIR and code interpretations relating to Classified Plant when required
  • Manage ICPI process and ICPI appointments and pre-approve all other S44 appointments
  • Review Classified Plant documentation relating to newly installed Classified Plant
  • Maintain records for Classified Plant including inspection records and logbook entries
  • Distribute Classified Plant safety related bulletins
  • Participate in the successful execution of Classified Plant maintenance and inspection at the site
  • Stand down non-complying Classified Plant
  • Report to the RM on key Classified Plant metrics: Outstanding maintenance orders, missed inspections, progress of CP projects, non-conformances, reportable incidents
  • Provide coaching on site for Classified Plant
  • Participate in internal and external auditing

What you'll bring

  • MSIA/MSIR knowledge and experience
  • Pressure vessel inspection - AICIP or API vessel inspector qualifications (Preferred)
  • Crane inspection - Senior Crane Inspector
  • SAP experience (Preferred)

Where you'll be working- Brockman

Located 60km north-west of Tom Price, Brockman is wholly owned and operated by Rio Tinto. Opened in 2010, this open pit operation offers a family friendly fly in fly out roster with state-of-the-art camp facilities.

The Greater Brockman Operations consist of Brockman 2, Brockman 4, Nammuldi and Silvergrass. Driving the latest technological advancements, the open-pit mines offer an avenue for opportunity and career progression.

This role is for applicants residing in or willing to permanently relocate to Western Australia, and work a 5/2; 4/3 FIFO roster from Perth.
