Position Overview

As a Director or Manager (based on experience) of Hydrogen Market, you will lead Engineering and Consulting Services (ECS) get work efforts and have primary market responsibilities. This could be your opportunity to develop ECS market strategy, set KPIs, and establish relationships to translate our services into cost competitive engineering and consulting solutions to meet clients' needs. Relationships must extend across a diverse client base to ensure Kiewit is attune to evolving market conditions as well as suitable teams are assembled when clients require a composite solution.

Kiewit Engineering Group, Inc is a full-service consulting and engineering firm serving the infrastructure and engineering markets. Our combined staff of more than 1,300 engineers and design professionals have expertise that spans all major engineering disciplines to serve transportation, power, water/wastewater, mining, building, and oil, gas & chemical markets. Backed by 130 years of construction experience, our construction-driven engineering focuses on constructability and safety in the earliest phases of projects to ensure on-time and on-budget project delivery.

Our rapidly growing Power district, which includes structural, civil, piping, mechanical, process, process safety, electrical, instrument and control disciplines, is a multi-faceted division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on the EPC delivery model for power facilities. We offer a variety of engineering services, including owner's engineering, project development, detailed engineering and design, construction management and plant services. Our engineering teams bring power projects to life across North America in the following areas:

We are a high performing team of engineers and designers that develop projects through the project life-cycle engaging exciting projects throughout North America. Our staff leads the power markets engineering process and collaborates with Kiewit's construction teams to approach construction-driven engineering with a focus on safe, cost-effective, and innovative designs that achieve client expectations and further Kiewit's legacy of excellence.

This position is based out of Lenexa, KS.

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning/Client Relationship Building
  • Set KPIs for hydrogen engineering and consulting services
  • Collaborate with Business Development to develop and sustain a robust pipeline of relevant, qualified opportunities.
  • Lead pursuits, analyze results, and maintain existing client relationships to facilitate communication on current and future project performance.
  • Expand work with existing clients through additional services and offerings that meet clients evolving needs.
  • Serve as the client advocate for all responses to client request for proposals (RFPs) and request for information (RFI's) and work solicitation inquiries; present to management argument for go/no go decisions
  • Become and remain continually informed on industry developments, technology advancements and the competitive landscape.
  • Identify and communicate competitor and market sector intelligence.
  • Actively participate/present in industry organizations and conferences to grow Kiewit's brand

Specific Opportunity Pursuit
  • Pursue, qualify, coordinate, develop, collaborate, and deliver winning proposals to our clients.
  • Develop the proposal strategy and collaborate with marketing/other stakeholders to write value proposition based proposals that crisply articulate our differentiators to our clients
  • Nurture relationships with key client individuals to support Kiewit's proposals.
  • Negotiate services contracts

Internal Kiewit Alignment
  • Complete and update pursuit data in the SAP based CRM tool for timely use by all other business leaders and business development professionals
  • Actively participate in business development calls and business planning efforts.
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop strategic and focused business collateral.
  • Collaborate with engineering director to ensure successful delivery of projects and services
  • Support EPC opportunities and collaborate with Business Line Manager as needed


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or business
  • 10+ years' proven experience in professional services related sales/leadership roles
  • Strong understanding of the hydrogen market and value chain including policy, technology, and stakeholders.
  • Strong willingness and aptitude to gain knowledge & understanding of our market and specific service offerings
  • Excellent communication skills, strong leadership skills and ability to positively motivate internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience leading proposal efforts and negotiating services contracts
  • Travel up to 50% of time.
