Wood is seeking an Intermediate Civil Designer to join our Mining & Minerals business. Reporting to the C ivil/Structural/Architectural Manager , this position is located in our Saskatoon, SK office. This role has overall responsibility for providing a variety of design activities including civil earthworks, underground utilities for mine sites and heavy industrial facilities. Wood is seeking an Intermediate Civil Designer to join our Mining & Minerals business. Reporting to the C ivil/Structural/Architectural Manager , this position is located in our Saskatoon, SK office. This role has overall responsibility for providing a variety of design activities including civil earthworks, underground utilities for mine sites and heavy industrial facilities. Responsibilities:
- Design civil earthworks (including general grading, ponds, drainage, plant roads, haul roads, mill pads, rail spurs , etc.
- Design underground utilities (including fire water, potable water, force mains, sanitary sewer for mine and heavy industrial facilities)
- Design surface run facilities (including tailing disharge, brine lines for mine and heavy industrial facilities)
Skills / Qualifications
- Diploma in Civil technology or equivalent Technology Diploma with related mine experience
- Minimum of 5-8 years design experience in earthworks, underground and surface utilities
- Ability to produce civil drawings using CAD software (predominately in AutoCAD)
- Experience with 3D design/drafting earthworks software (preference to AutoCad Civil 3D)
- Experience in preparation of specifications, contract documents, interpreting geotechnical and hydrology reports, quantity take-offs and cost estimating would be an asset
- Current authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
