RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES:
•Supervision and mentoring of Production Geologists with respect to logging and mapping of blast hole patterns, entry and interpretation of field and assay data using mine planning software.
•Supervise and when necessary conduct the entry field data, including but not limited to blast hole mapping and highwall mapping, into current databases for delivery to Resource Modeling.
•Ensure that highwall geologic maps and blast hole geologic maps are fully integrated.
•Oversee monitoring and tracking of Ore Control and related Mine to Mill communication.
•Manage ore stockpiles needed for metallurgical blending.
•Supervise the implementation of blending guidelines with an emphasis on monitoring adherence to blending plans. Ensure that the Mine and Mill are constantly informed of the progress in following the plan and that both departments are ready to make adjustments to plans as necessary to safe, efficient and profitable results.
•Manage Continuous Improvement (6S) and other special projects as warranted.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or Geometallurgy. A Master's degree is preferred.
•5 years mining and exploration experience is preferred. Experience in the ore control role, including geometallurgical blending in an open pit mining environment will be highly regarded.
•Experience with hydrothermal copper deposits. Knowledge of intrusive centered systems preferred.
•Working knowledge of MineSight and MinePlan.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
•Experience mentoring entry level geologists.
•Applicant should be able to work in a multi-tasking environment.
