Position summary
Downer has a long history of delivering transport infrastructure projects under a variety of contracting models. Services include the design and construction of light rail, heavy rail, signalling, track and station works, rail safety technology, bridges and roads.

Due to current workload, coupled with upcoming opportunities we are now looking to further enhance our delivery capabilities with the appointment of a highly experienced and capable Engineering Manager into the Infrastructure Projects WA business.

This role is FIFO to Karratha on a lifestyle friendly 8-6 roster, working on a variety of Rail and Rail corridor projects with a great team around you. This is a permanent position on a long term (4 years +) project and offers opportunity to step up in the future for the right candidate, with the right approach & attitude.

You will be accountable for leading the Project Engineering Team, integrating, building and growing capability to provide customer focused engineering solutions that are enabling, innovative and competitive.

About You
  • Demonstrated capability in Civil Construction with exposure to major rail infrastructure projects;
  • Maintenance / Possession planning experience within rail environments is essential.
  • Qualified professional engineer to Bachelor of Engineering level
  • Understanding of cost control and budget preparation and ability to manage projects to budget
  • Technical aptitude, good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A strong ability to rapidly grasp the nuances of client needs in complex situations with competing demands.
  • Ability to structure appropriate solutions to meet client needs and address problem areas.
  • Ability to lead others to deliver an agreed outcome.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • A strong bias for talent development of self and others
  • Proven experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 major Rail contractor desirable but not essential;
