ABOUT OUR OPERATION:

Agnico Eagle is always looking for new talented team members to join our Nunavut mining operations. We have been operating at Meadowbank, our first Low Arctic mine, near Baker Lake for over ten years. The mine produced its three millionth ounce of gold in 2018. 2019 marked the last year of production at the Meadowbank mine and has since transitioned to process ore from the Amaruq satellite deposit. With the official opening of the Amaruq Whale Tail Project in August 2019, the project is now referred to as the Meadowbank Complex. The Complex refers to the processing facilities and infrastructure at the Meadowbank mine site combined with the mining and infrastructure at the Amaruq site.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Camp General Supervisor, the Housekeeping Supervisor is part of the Camp Department and collaborates with their team members and other departments of the division. They will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
  • Plan, organize, supervise and support the work of the Guest Room Attendants, Laundry Attendants and Janitors on a day to day basis;
  • Evaluate and direct the personnel's daily work;
  • Record and report daily hours of personnel;
  • Execute daily safety meetings with the employees;
  • Lead by example by always applying the best practices;
  • Verify and ensure that all rooms, commons areas, corridors and offices are clean and well maintained;
  • Provide feedback on team members' performance to the Guest Services Supervisor;
  • Manage inventory for housekeeping supplies and uniforms;
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures & standards.


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Previous experience managing a team of housekeeping employees through motivation, coaching and development;
  • The ability to anticipate needs, change goals and direct information quickly;
  • Advanced knowledge of housekeeping processes and procedures;
  • Independent judgment and solid decision-making skills;
  • Knowledge of safety procedures, hygiene rules & policies;
  • Strong sense of organization and has a positive team spirit;
  • Demonstrates excellent planning, takes initiative and is solution oriented;
  • Cultural awareness and understanding of work in the Canadian Arctic are considered an asset;
  • Experience using JDE is considered an asset;
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint;
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing mark on the SPEEXX English language assessment.

Your Work Schedule
  • Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities of the Kivalliq region, Mirabel or Val d'Or, Quebec.
