Seeking an experienced Control Room Technician - Site Asset Operations Centre (SAOC)
  • We are now seeking applications for an experienced and professional person to join the Site Asset Operations Centre (SAOC) on a fulltime permanent basis. Reporting to the Supervisor - SAOC, you will be part of a team responsible for safe effective operation of a fixed and mobile assets.

The key responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to):
  • Providing support to the site to deliver site production; safely and consistently achieve target outputs in a responsible, sustainable, and cost-effective manner aligned with Newcrest and Cadia strategies.
  • Working closely with production personnel and providing them with timely and accurate information
  • Highlighting issues that arise and follow escalation procedures to achieve resolution.
  • Contributing to a business improvement culture.
  • Demonstrate a high regard for safety and be willing to challenge the status quo with regards to safety standards - you will be responsible for various processes which keep people in the field safe.
  • Encouraging and supporting Newcrest's safety culture, values and behaviours at Cadia.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications, skills and experience:
  • Previous experience in control room operations preferably in Minerals processing or similar processes.
  • Proactive approach to your work with demonstrated experience in solving mining and/or processing issues.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Strong active listening and interpersonal skills for rapport building.
