Summary:
Barr is seeking a civil design intern to join our Jefferson City, Missouri, team and undertake work on projects involving data collection, planning, and problem solving in the civil engineering field. The person in this position will work with multidisciplinary project teams, providing computer-aided drafting expertise using AutoCAD on a Windows platform, with an emphasis on Civil 3D. Typical duties consist of working with engineers to create, update, and revise drawings of civil, mechanical, electrical, or structural systems.
Project responsibilities include developing and managing project CAD file structure, basefiles, planimetrics, civil 3D design surfaces and pipe drafting networks, and construction drawing and renderings as well as determining quantities for cost estimating and report preparation.

Minimum Qualifications
- Pursuing an AA or AS degree, or related technical certificate, in CADD technology or related field
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
- At least one full-time semester remaining after internship
- Conscientiousness concerning the accuracy, appropriateness, and timeliness of results
- Thorough and organized approach to work, attention to detail, and the ability to work within a team
- Proficiency using current versions of AutoCAD and Civil 3D and other CADD-based civil design software
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with project team members and clients
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows OS and Microsoft Office software
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship
- Acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Familiarity with software packages including additional drafting packages such as Revit, MicroStation, Geopak, ArcGIS, Excel, and word processing software
