Rainy River Mine
Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River Mine is an open pit, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.

The Rainy River Mine, located adjacent to the Ontario / Minnesota border is 65 Kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. If you enjoy outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, winter sports and lake country then this is an area you will love to live and work in.

Applicants who reside in Northwestern Ontarioand have experience working in a cross-cultural environment, coupled with knowledge of the unique challenges and opportunities presented to those living in the Northwest Ontario, are assets. About The Role

Schedule: 7/7 – 12 hour days

Position Reports To: Site Services Supervisor

Position Overview

The role of the Plumber is to carry out the maintenance on and installation of Site Services Infrastructure. Ensure all activities are carried out in conformance with New Gold’s policies and procedures including cultural, safety and environmental.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of Site Services mobile equ i pment a n d hand tools.
• Work i n confined spaces such as in vessels, tanks, and towers .
• Meas u re, cut, curve, gather and i nsta ll pip i ng, va l ves, and fitti n gs .
• Fusing HDPE pipe.
• Be ab l e to use t es t in g e q u i pment to c h eck for l eaks .
• Perform QA/QC c h e cks for a ll work performed.
• Develop proced u res as re qui red .
• Perform gene ra l dut i es ass i gned.
• Assist other trades within the Site Services Department.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Plumber Ticket required
• Class G Driver’s License Required
• HDPE Pipe Fusing Certification an asset.
• Petroleum Mechanic or Helper Certification an asset.
• Min i m u m of 3 years of re l ated experience
• Ability to ident ify , ana l yze and re so l ve prob l e ms.
• Ab i lity to work w i th m i n i ma l supervision.
• Good oral and written communication s kill s.
