SUMMARY

The Senior Procurement Specialist will work with the site Projects team to develop and carry out cost effective strategies to secure materials and services for capital projects. The Senior Procurement Specialist will source and engage suppliers and vendors to support capital projects to meet deadline for completion.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

•Develop capital procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective.

•Identify potential suppliers based on project requirements.

•Source and engage reliable suppliers and vendors.

•Review existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility for capital projects.

•Build and maintain long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.

•Process purchase orders and organize and confirm delivery of goods and services.

•Perform risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.

•Work with the Project Managers to develop and monitor the procurement budget and promote a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.

•Act as a point of contact between the company/Project Managers and suppliers.

•Negotiate contracts, terms and deadlines with vendors and suppliers.

•Monitor and update Project Managers regarding price fluctuations of goods and vendor pricing and potential delays in goods or services that may impact the project.

•Manage an efficient flow of goods to ensure optimum production.

•Participate in Project Meetings to gain an understanding of procurement requirements and advise Project Managers on procurement matters.

•Prepare procurement reports.

•Participate in Risk Assessment activities as required.

•Participate in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) as required.

•Follow and understand MSHA rules and regulations, environmental rules and regulations, SOP and work area instructions, participates in safety and environmental activities. Lead by example by adhering to rules and regulations, and ensuring compliance to rules and regulations by the Maintenance department.

•Must be able to work and communicate with other members of the work team.

•Must be willing to comply with all company policies and procedures.

•Comply with applicable environmental laws and regulations. Conducts activities and work in an environmentally responsible manner. Is aware of procedures to minimize impacts to the environment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration.

Proven experience managing supply chain operations.

Experience using supply chain management software and tools.

In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).

Experience with IFS preferred.

Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
