Job Description:
Summary:
The person in this position will work with multidisciplinary project teams. This person must be experienced in civil engineering design and analysis related to site layout, grading and drainage, mass earthwork, etc. Work will involve technical assignments including design with CADD modeling software, preparation of construction plans and specifications, spreadsheet preparation, site development design, report writing, large-report preparation, construction cost estimating, construction observation, and facility inspection. Assignments may also include working with permitting agencies and public officials. The person in this position will also perform a project leadership role. Administrative responsibilities such as business development, project management, team building, project planning, and scheduling are also included with this strategic role. This person will also have the opportunity to serve as a mentor to junior and mid-level engineers to grow civil engineering expertise and project management skills by reviewing technical reports and providing guidance on operations-related tasks. The work may require travel for short-term, out-of-town work assignments.

NOTE: Some work locations will feature the rough terrain typical of construction sites or require lifting or moving field testing equipment. Safety training will be provided prior to being given work assignments on these sites. Applicants may be asked to participate in a drug screening program at the request of specific clients.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
- 10 or more years of related work experience
- Professional engineer (PE) certification or ability to obtain certification within one year
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Civil 3D, and computer simulation modeling
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Willingness to work in a project team environment that encourages self-initiative and cross-office collaboration
- Proven project management experience
- Flexible working style as required to meet project deadlines and/or client needs
- Acceptable driving record
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in consulting engineering
- Strong relationships with clients and the ability to develop or foster ongoing relationships and maintain a high level of client service
