WesTrac are looking for a Simulated Work Environment Lead Trainer to join our Learning and Development Team in a full-time capacity at our South Guildford, WA, location.

This is a multi-faceted, supervisory role in which the successful candidate will engage in managing a workshop as well as be accountable for the supervision of Simulated Work Environment Trainers and their delivery of training, coaching and mentoring to participants. The SWE Lead Trainer will also be responsible for the supervision of fourth year apprentices.

This diverse role will require someone with experience around workshop and asset management, along with strong interpersonal communication and people management/leadership skills. As a mentor and coach, you will need to be able to build professional relationships with a range of stakeholders from apprentices to management and be able to have tough conversations if needed.

To be successful the following is required:
  • Trade qualification in the areas or Mobile Plant Technology and/or Automotive Electrical Technology OR;
  • Trade qualification in Light Vehicle or Heavy Road Transport coupled with extensive post qualification experience with crossover into training.
  • Working towards or holding a Certificate IV Training and Assessment ( desirable)
  • Leadership/people management experience with the ability to inspire, influence and motivate teams
  • Exceptional relationship building skills with the ability to maintain successful relationships
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal), including negotiation and facilitation skills to effectively liaise with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to plan, manage fluctuating workloads and conflicting priorities to achieve deadlines
  • People management experience in a training environment
  • Advanced Microsoft Suite skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced working environment and manage multiple priorities to meet objectives
  • Ability to problem solve
