Advisor - Global Commodities (Back-office Operations)

About the role

We are looking for an Advisor - Global Commodities Back-office operations for supporting and managing the organization's Commodity operations.

This position is an excellent opportunity to join the regional team based in Delhi. This dynamic team is responsible to assist and managing the large transactional operations for Global Commodity Back Office operations and to have strategic alignment with Commercial / Group treasury teams and Business Units Controllers, FBPs and Group leadership and the wider finance and commercial organization.

Reporting line: Sr. Advisor - Global Banking & Commodity services

Scope: Your scope will include (but not limited to) below:
  • Perform daily reconciliations and checks to ensure trades are captured in an accurate and timely manner
  • Resolve trade discrepancies with counterparties by liaising with Trading and Commercial Services team
  • Confirmation checking, affirmation and tracking
  • Invoice reconciliation and investigation for any settlement discrepancies
  • Track daily collateral movements and liaise with Treasury Ops for funding
  • Knowledge of ETRM & CTRM domain (must)
  • Derivatives Process (OTC & Exchange Traded Derivatives), Collateral Management & Derivative Deal Confirmation & Settlement Process
  • Strong knowledge of European market infrastructure regulation (EMIR), Monetary Authority of Singapore MAS regulatory reporting , The Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC)
  • Perform exchange position and margin reconciliation
  • Monitor general ledger interface to SAP
  • Perform month end tasks in relation to rate fixing, journal entry posting, position reconciliations, commission fee reconciliations, Blackline reconciliations
  • Performing and enhancing daily control processes for regulatory reporting
  • Support and assist with internal and external audit requests
  • Support testing and rollout of new products
  • Partnership with Technology and Commercial Services on implementation of new commodities platform and system enhancements
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned to meet the needs of the organization

Technical Skills
  • Working knowledge of SAP, Quantum, EMIR ,ZEMA & CTRMs will be an additional benefit
  • Derivative accounting will be of an additional advantage
  • Have prior experience with Commodities trade and risk management platforms
  • Degree in Accountancy and qualifications from professional accounting bodies would be an added advantage
  • Knowledge and understanding of Balance sheet reconciliations and Blackline tool
  • Knowledge in relation to adherence of Commodity RACM controls & compliances and procedures and have fair understanding of SOX controls.

  • Good understanding of commodity products (futures, options, swaps) and trade lifecycle knowledge
  • Good communication and organizational skills, able to interact and work effectively across functional/locations
  • Detail oriented with strong risk awareness and able to perform operational responsibilities to a consistently high standard
  • Self-starter with a strong desire to drive process efficiency
  • Displays strong sense of responsibility and accountability
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
