Senior Advisor - Global Commodities (Back-office Operations)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Advisor - Global Commodities (Back-office Operations) for supporting and managing the organization's Commodity operations.

This position is an excellent opportunity to join the regional team based in Delhi. This dynamic team is responsible to assist and managing the large transactional operations for Global Commodity Back Office operations and to have strategic alignment with Commercial / Group treasury teams and Business Units Controllers, FBPs and Group leadership and the wider finance and commercial organization.

Reporting line: SDL - AR, Banking , Treasury & GCBO

Scope: Your scope will include (but not limited to) below:
  • Oversight of day-to-day operations with team management and supervision responsibilities
  • Partnership with Technology and Commercial Services on implementation of new commodities platform and system enhancements
  • Collaborate with Commercial Services to implement process or system improvements to reduce control gaps and mitigate risk
  • Responsible for ensuring all daily and month end processes are completed accurately within timeframes
  • Knowledge of ETRM & CTRM domain (must)
  • Derivatives Process (OTC & Exchange Traded Derivatives), Collateral Management & Derivative Deal Confirmation & Settlement Process
  • Strong knowledge of European market infrastructure regulation (EMIR), Monetary Authority of Singapore MAS regulatory reporting , The Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC)
  • Ensure procedures and documentation are updated and reviewed periodically
  • Preparation of key performance metrics for reporting purposes
  • Support and assist with internal and external audit requests
  • Support testing and rollout of new products
  • Provide coverage for daily operational processes in relation to trade checking, exchange margin reconciliation, confirmations, invoicing and settlement, regulatory reporting, funding
  • Provide coverage for month end process in relation to rate fixing, journal entry posting, Blackline balance reconciliation and certification
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned to meet the needs of the organization.

Technical Skills
  • Working knowledge of SAP, Quantum, EMIR ,ZEMA & CTRMs will be an additional benefit
  • Derivative accounting will be of an additional advantage
  • Have prior experience with Commodities trade and risk management platforms
  • Knowledge and understanding of Balance sheet reconciliations and Blackline tool
  • Degree in Accountancy and qualifications from professional accounting bodies would be an added advantage
  • Knowledge in relation to adherence of Commodity RACM controls & compliances and procedures and have fair understanding of SOX controls.

  • Good communication and organizational skills, able to interact and work effectively across functional/locations
  • Detail oriented with strong risk awareness and able to perform operational responsibilities to a consistently high standard
  • Strives to lead a team of advisors and bring new thoughts and ideas to drive innovation
  • Self-starter with a strong desire to drive process efficiency
  • Ability to manage team efficiently
  • Possess a good understanding of the inherent risks and demonstrate good discipline around control and escalation.
  • Displays strong sense of responsibility and accountability
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
