Supervisor Trade Training

Work Location: Fortescue's Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.

Roster: 8D/6R - FIFO ex Perth

Fortescue is currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated professional to join their Apprentice & Trades Training Team. Reporting directly to the Superintendent Trade Training, the role will be to supervise and manage trade training delivery as well as the day-to-day operations of the trades training centre.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Lead and support a team of Trade Trainers and Assessors, and support staff to support the apprentice and trade training programs
  • Ongoing management of the Fortescue Trade Training Centre including related paperwork, purchasing, governance policies and procedures etc
  • Assist with the design and development of training plans, and the management and implementation of new training programs
  • Ensure that all training resources are available for effective delivery of trade training programs and that all training is delivered in accordance with the approved training program
  • Maintain effective communication with internal/external customers as well as other stakeholders
  • Deliver comprehensive inductions and familiarisations to direct and indirect employees when necessary
  • Facilitate and coordinate the delivery, and deliver of professional development trade training to Fortescue tradespersons
  • Undertake audits as required

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Trade qualified in either Cert III Heavy Mobile Equipment, Mechanical Engineering or Fabrication
  • Cert IV Training & Assessing (TAE40116)
  • Training experience and knowledge of training framework (desirable)
  • Certificate IV in Frontline Management
  • Experience in the day-to-day management/supervision and mentoring of teams
  • Experience managing a workshop environment
  • Strong computer literacy, must be proficient with Microsoft applications in particular - Excel word, PowerPoint, as well as a good understanding of BMS, SAP, Fiori
  • Current C- Class driver's license
  • Forklift, Dogging, Overhead Crane qualifications (desirable)
