Position Overview

We are seeking a self-motivated Senior (or Lead) Accountant to join our Corporate Tax department. This department is responsible for tax research and planning, income tax, transaction tax (sales & use, VAT, GST) property tax, and tax incentives. The successful candidate's initial assignment will be to the income tax group with opportunities to rotate in the various subgroups within our Corporate Tax team to learn new aspects of Tax and grow your career. Location

This position is based out of office in Omaha, NE.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and review of U.S. federal domestic and international tax filings (Forms 1065, 1120, 1118, 5471, 8858, and 8865)
  • Preparation and review of Canadian federal and provincial income tax returns
  • Computation of estimated tax payments
  • Completion of assigned projects
  • Monitor tax legislation
  • Assist with income tax audits and field support with regard to tax
  • Research and analysis of tax issues
  • Interact with Kiewit Management and other Financial departments, tax preparers and external auditors


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting
  • Two+ years accounting experience (US and Canada income tax experience preferred, but will consider candidates with a strong background in other areas of Tax (transaction tax, property tax, tax incentives that seek to grow their career)
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proven technical abilities and problem solving skills
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, income tax compliance and research software)
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented
  • Able to meet deadlines and juggle multiple tasks
  • Able to work independently, and as part of a team
  • Some travel may be required
  • Interest or Experience in Automation of financial functions
