About the role

Our Ravensworth team is expanding! Due to continued growth, WesTrac is seeking an experienced Full Time, Plant Mechanic to work for our MARC site. The successful applicant will be a motivated individual, who has 3 years’ post trade experience, you will also bring a high level of technical skills and expertise to the role, along with a strong drive and motivation to succeed and commit to a team. We are looking for someone who has their Plant Mechanic qualifications, as well as knowledge with CAT.

You will be working alongside our team of experienced and motivated Plant Mechanics based on our customers site performing inspections, maintenance and repairs on a range of Caterpillar machinery and mining trucks, in particular a CAT 797F Mining Truck. You will bring a high level of technical skills and expertise to the role, along with a strong drive and motivation to succeed and commit to a team.

The position on offer is a permanent full-time role, working 12 hour shifts with an attractive lifestyle roster on offer, working a rotating roster.

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Plant Mechanic trade qualifications
  • 3 years’ in a similar role
  • MDG25 or willing to complete
  • Previous mining experience is preferred, but not essential
  • CAT Overhaul experience
  • Sound working knowledge of Caterpillar equipment is highly regarded
  • Ability to work autonomously if required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong diagnostic and repair skills, with a commitment to meeting customer requirements
  • Demonstrates the WesTrac SPARC values of Safety, Pride, Accountability, Respect and Customer
  • Nationally accredited Forklift, Dogman, and Working at Height tickets

A demonstrated proactive and methodical approach to assign tasks and problem solving will support your integration into our high performing team.
