About the role:

The purpose of this role is to assist with all aspects of crane operation onsite to ensure smooth transportation, delivery and operation of the units and lifting gear. This includes for-filling the roles of a counterweight truck driver from time to time and driving around the sites unloading and picking up gear.

The Dogman's key tasks and responsibilities are:

• Helping mobilise the cranes on site and demobilise leaving site
• Helping the crane operator to complete crane maintenance
• Slinging up and dogging the loads
• Guiding lifts and sling lifts when in operation
• Driving on and off site to pick up gear when required
• Checking lifting gear to ensure it is up to date, tagged and current
• Working with crane drivers day to day
• Travelling with the cranes to the various job sites
• Helping operate the counterweight trucks with delivery of the counterweights to and from site

About you - We are looking for candidates with the following skills & experience:

• ConstructSafe Tier 1 Ticket
• NZQA unit standard 3789 or 30072
• NZQA Unit standard 3801 is an advantage
• Proven Rigging and Dogman experience
• Knowledge of the crane industry
• Keen and willing to learn
• Physically fit
• Able to problem solve
• Team player
• Excellent communication skills
• Proven ability and competence in the proper care, maintenance and operation of appropriate plant and equipment
• Numerical skills and legible handwriting
• Current full class 1 drivers licence Class 4 and 5 licence is advantageous
• The flexibility to be mobile as working on projects outside your home base will be required from time to time
