Guyana - Field Logistic Coordinator - Explorations

Barrick is looking for a Field Logistic Coordinator to join our Explorations team at Guyana. The position will be responsible for providing quality field and logistics support services to the Guyana's Exploration group, for the co-ordination of field personnel and equipment, whilst assisting the Exploration team in the discovery of gold deposits.

Responsibilities:

• Provide support in the execution of remote drilling programs.
• Interpret and apply Geologist's specifications and instructions.
• Consolidate, maintain, audit, and monitor existing field equipment, fleet vehicles and mobile equipment as well as recommending acquisition of major field items.
• Supervision, training, co-ordination and coaching of field personnel on safe use of field equipment, general field work and sampling procedures.
• Maintain a professional work environment, coordinating with members of the logistics team and inter-company departments, to provide support for the Exploration team, within the region.
• Maintain a network of industry contacts to allow for research, monitoring and trial of new field techniques with the aim of gaining a competitive advantage, ensure continuous improvement and realize cost savings.
• Effective information dissemination within the region and with other Barrick Exploration regions.
• Administrative duties computer software fundamentals.
• Remote camp set up to support regional activities and a strong field focus.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience in functions like those mentioned, in exploration field.
• Experience in supervising roles.
• Trades certificate in Mining, Geo Science or Supply Management preferable.
• Strong background in Logistic and Procurement preferable.
• Attainment of relevant industry-related training courses in Mining, Exploration and EH&S.
• Language: English fluent - required.
• Organizational and multitasking skills including ability to set work priorities.
• Strong communication skills and the enthusiasm to actively seek, distribute and adapt new concepts.
• Administrative capabilities and MS Office skills.
• Strong Leadership qualities and lateral thinker with good negotiation skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly to challenging environment and constantly changing situations.
• Ability to identify opportunities for improvement in safety, productivity and cost.
• Available to work in Guyana on a turns, mostly on field.
