Thiess is seeking a Fuel and Lube Technician (site) to support our mining team on our Project site near Denver, Colorado. The Fuel and Lube Technician will be responsible for safely fueling and greasing Mining shovels, loaders, dozers, graders, haul truck and water truck.

About the Role

Your main responsibilities as Fuel and Lube Technician (site) are:
  • To be responsible for safely fueling and greasing Mining shovels, loaders, dozers, graders, haul truck and water truck.
  • Grease and maintain heavy earthmoving equipment.
  • Refuel Heavy Equipment.
  • Clean and replace parts as necessary.
  • Follow lubrication and fuel schedule.
  • Maintain knowledge of environmental and safety regulations with regard to handling and disposal of fuel/oil as well as mechanical equipment.


About You
  • Experience servicing heavy earthmoving mining / construction equipment including, excavator, loader, haul truck, grader, water truck and small equipment.
  • Ability to perform preventative maintenance (oil changes, etc.).
  • Technical expertise: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Communications skills; Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and seeks confirmation of understanding; effectively responds well to questions.
  • Authorization to work lawfully in USA without sponsorship from Thiess is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results within a team environment with minimal supervision at times.
  • Demonstrated high level of analytical ability and ability to problem solve.
  • High level of attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills.
  • The ability to work in a team environment.
  • Mining or heavy industrial construction experience considered an asset.
  • Ability and willingness to work different schedule on site based on project needs.
  • 5 or more years of experience in mining, or related industry.
  • Post-high school training in a related area.
