Who we're looking for

Reporting to our Principal - Shared Services Operations, the Accounting Services Team Lead will be responsible for the service delivery for all transactional support services (Accounting to Report, Accounts Receivable and Vendor Management) at Newcrest with an Onshore Financial Accountant and Outsourced team members in the areas of responsibility. It will see you supporting global site operations, corporate and exploration entities with a direct interaction with the Company's financial auditors. You will also be responsible for:
  • General Accounting
  • Month End Reporting
  • Fixed Asset processing
  • Group Management and Statutory reporting support
  • Master Data maintenance
  • Accounts Receivable-debt collection, invoicing, debtor reconciliations
  • Corporate Credit Card and Expense management
  • Interaction with IT support Teams


Our ideal candidate will have a degree qualification in Accounting or Finance and professional qualification, either post-completion or currently pursuing. You'll have significant exposure to large/diverse organisations. A Mining or Resources background would be advantageous. You will be our process improvement/automation champion by ensuring we are leveraging our current systems and processes to be as efficient as possible so that we can deliver required outcomes. This role requires excellent communication and strong stakeholder engagement skills.

Additionally, you will also have:
  • Demonstrated accounting process knowledge, particularly General Accounting, Month end, Fixed Assets and Reporting
  • Working knowledge of SAP and associate processes preferred
  • Previous experience in dealing with an offshore Service Delivery Provider and/or a Shared Services function
  • Experience supervising, training, coaching and mentoring of outsource provider
  • Highly tuned problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong investigative and financial analytical skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Project Management skills
  • Strong commercial sense
  • Good knowledge of Excel
