Supervisor - Mechanical

Globe 24-7 in partnership with Newcrest Mining, is working together to source experienced and qualified talent to join their Power & Utilities Department to support their Lihir Gold Operations (LGO).

The Role

We are now seeking for an experienced Supervisor - Mechanical for a FIFO position based at our Lihir Gold Operation (LGO) with Mobile Fleet Maintenance, Drills & Crushers. Reporting to the Senior Specialist - PCR, the successful candidate will supervise the daily activities of the Mechanical Mobile Fleet Maintenance team to ensure optimum mobile fleet availability and reliability is achieved in a safe & timely manner.

The role will have responsibility to;
  • Supervises team members in mechanical maintenance activities within the Mobile Fleet Maintenance area.
  • Ensures all works for the area (inspections, identifying defects, system verifications, routine schedules, SOPs etc.) are completed within all safety, environmental and company compliance processes and guidelines.
  • Ensures mobile fleet is maintained to OEM specifications, using genuine OEM parts.
  • Prescribes work detail, specifications, and procedures to be adopted in special undertakings related to the repair, maintenance, and modification of equipment
  • Drives and influences proactive behaviours within the team through visible felt leadership approach.
  • Ensures personal and team compliance with all company HSE requirements & policies including Fitness for Work.

Essential criteria
  • 5+ years' experience in mineral processing environments including large-scale fixed assets.
  • Currently holds mechanical skills from working on fixed assets including drills and crushers.
  • Trades Certificate in Heavy Equipment Fitting or related qualification essential.
  • Skilled in the use of the SAP software to manage the day-to-day planning and scheduling of maintenance activities.
  • Strong active listening & interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution & training
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines
  • Sound planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Desirable criteria
  • PNG National Drivers licence
  • Previous experience in delivery and assessment of training desirable

The Requirements
  • Must be open to FIFO in PNG.
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment.
  • Must have proof of a completed Police Clearance within the last six month
