Job Description:
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager working 4 days on followed by 3 days off, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing maintenance planning and reliability functions for the mine site. This includes mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and mobile equipment for the underground, surface operations, fixed plant and mill. The successful applicant will be capable of effectively managing capacity and resources required to address backlog, as well as identify opportunities to reduce or eliminate downtime through preventive and predictive maintenance. This position is also responsible for planning all non-emergency maintenance work including day-to-day activities, short-term outages, and planned shutdowns.
Qualifications:
Ensure all planning and reliability personnel perform their activities in a safe manner that follows all company policies and procedures.
Oversee planning of daily routine and non-routine maintenance work.
Plan material, labour, and tools needed for all non-emergency maintenance work.
Work closely with onsite and outside contractors to ensure all projects are planned and executed on time and on budget.
Conducts weekly meetings with each department and project engineering to coordinate short term and long term planned equipment downtime needs.
Reviews and issues weekly PM schedules to all departments.
Analyzes results of the preventative/ predictive maintenance programs and takes corrective action as required.
Maintains all aspects of the CMMS system.
Develop and plan life cycle of critical equipment.
Identify work requests that need to be included in the MOC process to ensure this process is completed prior to the work order being issued.
Preferred skills and technical competencies expected of the successful candidate would be previous experience in scheduling, navigating Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (4site) as well as high level of competency in Microsoft office programs. Strong verbal and written communication skills coupled with a demonstrated level of leadership and organizational skills.
The ideal applicant will have a minimum of 10 years experience in an industrial setting; preferred mining related field in electrical/instrumentation, mechanical, mobile equipment with related post secondary education or trade certification. Experienced in communicating with OEM or other suppliers for procurement, kitting and staging for planned jobs. A portion of this planned work will be underground related and require time spent in that setting, underground common core is considered an asset for this position.
