We are looking for a Category Analyst - Carbon for our Procurement organization based in Montreal, Qc. The Carbon Analyst will develop and manage collaborative relationships with finance, sales, accounts payables, suppliers, end users and logistics to identify synergies and new savings/ process improvement opportunities. There will be also opportunity to support the team on developing category strategies, market research, strategy execution and contract management. This role is a great opportunity for a supply chain professional, who has credible experience, has an appetite to resolve complex supply chain challenges, can visualize the 'bigger picture' and is results driven through the delivery of sustained and tangible value.

The Carbon Cat Analyst will be mainly responsible for:
  • Able to develop a high level of trust and work in a matrix environment: develop strong relationship with internal stakeholders in order to better support the business requirements and DRIVE strategy implementation.
  • Systematizing the analytical process through developing and maintaining customized databases for demand planning, market information, inventory, supply chain and risk management tools.
  • Expediting: managing physical and system's deliveries between suppliers, terminals and plants.
  • Solving quality issues through driving root cause analysis between technical team, logistics, warehouses and supplier.
  • Managing insurance claims reconciliation with risk team and Rio Tinto's insurer.
  • Issuing and handling sales invoices, solving account receivables issues.
  • Solving accounts payables issues with P2P team and suppliers. Educate end users and suppliers in P2P process.
  • Manage new vendor creation in the system and Due Diligence reports requests.
  • Documental organization, performance reporting and systems managements.
  • Generate / Update a rigorous fact base development linking market dynamics to business needs that will be basis for the category strategy and sourcing program.
  • Develop and update end-to end category strategies (with Specialist's guidance). Develop commercial strategies to minimize total cost and maximize value that will drive competitive advantage and meet Rio Tinto governance requirements.

What you'll bring
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have
  • Bachelor's Degree in commerce/Business/Finance, Engineering or equivalent.
  • Previous experience with multi-national companies in Mining, Manufacturing or Automotive industries.
  • Minimum of 5 years of supply chain experience.
  • Be fluent in SAP, Excel, Power BI and Ariba
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders
  • Strong project management, problem solving, continuous improvement and customer/supplier relationship management skills.
  • Ability to achieve outcomes through partnership, collaboration, and positive influence.
  • Strong analytical capability and the ability to effectively collate and compile data.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and be a self-starter.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills both in French and in English, with abilities to simplify and communicate complex technical data to various audiences.
